Learning How to Draw with the Drawing Academy App: It’s Beneficial and Fun for Kids

Children can’t get enough of our app Drawing Academy. It’s got funny characters, various drawing tools, and adorable animations and sounds. But kids get more than just fun from playing it. They learn a range of fundamental skills that will help them for the rest of their lives.

Start Simple with Easy Drawing for Kids

For a long time, people thought of artistic talent as something you either have or you don’t. Now, we know better and that art skills, like any other, need to be nurtured. And it’s not as simple as “Go. Learn draw. Now.” As with any learning process, it’s best to take it one step at a time, and the Drawing Academy app is perfect for this. Why? Because it actually shows children what they need to do step by step. Let’s take our wide-eyed owl as an example.

Kids get to draw an owl from start to finish, and the app gently explains how. First, the head, then the big eyes, then a cute little beak, and so on until, voila, an owl is born! This teaches kids that drawing is a process, as well as developing listening skills and patience.

Drawing Academy has over 150 pictures for kids to draw that let kids learn numbers, letters, animals, transport, fairy tale characters, and more!

Monster Coloring: Our Newest and Most Terrifyingly Cute Category

Drawing Academy, in particular, makes drawing more exciting than ever. We’ve recently added two new categories: Live Stories and Monsters.

In Live Stories, kids actually get to play out a scenario. They help our in-app kitty out of sticky situations, feed it, and play with it, all by drawing. This improves not only drawing skills but also early problem-solving skills and vocabulary expansion with words such as ball, fish, and more. Check out the video below to see what we mean.

We hope you and your kids like the Drawing Academy app as much as we do! Download it on iOS, Android, and Amazon.
